The American Wine Society establishes the Austin Hill Country Chapter in Texas.

Founder of the Local Chapter in the Austin Area is Oscar Adrian Montes Iga, Executive Chef of Wine Arts; and Professional Member of the American Wine Society. Cofounder of the Chapter is Victor M Montes, Personal Chef and Member of The Wine Century Club.

We welcome all residents of Austin to join the Society, and come to Chapter Functions.

The American Wine Society was organized in 1967 as a non-profit, educational, consumer-oriented organization for those interested in learning more about all aspects of wine. Membership is open to all adults.

The Chapter, although independent, conforms to the American Wine Society structure of non-profit, educational, consumer-oriented organization for those interested in learning more about all aspects of wine. Membership is open to the general public and has been established for those who have a keen interest in wine culture through education in general, abiding to the Society’s goal, but is targeted specially to those wanting to expand their knowledge and experience in the Texas wine industry and supporting Texas agriculture, commerce, tourism and education.

The Chapter extends to the Austin Metropolitan Area, as well as adjacent communities and townships, including and not limited to the Texas Hill Country American Viticultural Area, until a new chapter develops within those areas. Neighboring Members of such surrounding communities are welcomed to be part of the Austin Hill Country Chapter, as well as are encouraged to form their own Chapter. Fellow Chapter Members are always welcomed to the Austin Hill Country Chapter’s functions.
The Chapter’s Governance is self-claimed and held true until challenged by a Fellow Chapter. The Chapter is independent as is ruled by the member’s interests, and shall reserve its rights to govern itself.
